Bumps in the Road: I'm Walking Over Them!

Time to Get Off My, Well, You Know

How many big people do you know that really do a lot of exercise? Really? That many? I think they're lying. Okay, I'm kidding, but you get my point. I did every kind of thing as a child, swim team, dance two times a week, had a horse, had a sailboat, rode my bike four miles to my music lessons twice a week, walked to school, dance team and there's more. Should have given me lots of muscle memory, right? Well my muscles have Alzheimer's Disease.

So, when my surgeon asked if I was exercising, I debated if I could count coming down the stairs in the morning and going up the stairs at night, decided I couldn't, and spilled the beans. He had one thing to say, "If you don't exercise you won't lose the weight." Damn. I was afraid he'd say that.

Facing Facts
It's time to get serious. I have mentioned that I have a Wii Fit. I have pledged to use it three times a week. The thing is fun, I don't know what my problem is. I also have ordered the Malibu Pilates Chair - Accelerated Results Package that I had tried out. Until those arrive, I'm using my Walk Away the Pounds-Complete In-Home Walking System. This is the DVD for people (like me) who need to start slow. It's easy, it's inexpensive, and even the laziest person should be able to make themselves do this. It has one, two and three mile walks. My surgeon asks us to do two mile walks daily. So this should be just the thing. I'm going to do this several times this week, and I'll let you know how its going. So far, so fun!

Wow... I know what you mean. Although I'm down 40 lbs, I still find it hard to motivate myself to get up and exercise. I mean, already, I'm debating whether or not to go to Curves tomorrow AM at 6... that is when I go. Period. No other option other than to sleep in... which sounds OH SO WONDERFUL... but, I have to do it (sigh). Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving your site!!!
